I once read of a couple who based their vacations around cities which had a Hard Rock Café restaurant. I guess they figured any place significant enough for that restaurant should be worth visiting in it's own right.

It's not a bad list. Without even trying, I've eaten at that chain in some wonderful places: Sydney, Katmandu, Singapore, Paris, and Rome, not to mention numerous domestic locations.

For my travel excuse, however, I've been visiting units of the National Park Service. Over half the 395 odd sites so far, including two-thirds of the U.S. national parks and several World Heritage Sites.
