IsmProv - Live Comedy
For November, George Faughnan and I have added a second IsmProv performance, and new venues. On Friday the 16th, at 8 pm, we'll be sponsored by yourAct Studios at Sketchworks Theatre. The Wednesday show on the 21st is at Dad's Garage.
The Undecided
If you had a hard time deciding whom to vote for Tuesday, you weren't alone. I worked with Percy Easley, at Film Clash, to create some election videos around the theme of "The Undecided" voter. I had a blast doing an improvised scene that, in hindsight, seems to be channeling Andy Griffith. Watch one of the takes here or click the image below to see a short clip.
Pre Production
Morningside Monster Feature
The cast for Morningside Monster keeps getting more handsome: Nicholas Brendon (Criminal Minds; Xander in Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has signed on to be in the cast. I'm looking forward to having a couple scenes with him next month.
Upyri Series
I started recording an audio book this month. "The Virgin Gathering" is written in an old-school, flowery, style to which I added a Russian accent. Hopefully that will give some exotic, if not Old World, charm to the vampiric story. It's a continuation of the Upyri narrator stuff I did in March and will be part promotional materials for shopping the video series to networks. It, the soundtrack, a comic book, and the first episode of the series have a screening for cast and crew on the 17th.
Events
Get Connected Mixer
In the works for the next Get Connected event is Script2Screen, a showcase for a few un-produced scenes from screenplays by local screenwriters. I'll be on the table read of Stephen Sherwood's sci fi film "Quantum Soul." The story is part metaphysical: specifically, on the existential issue of getting into a Star Trek-style transporter. If there was a technonology that could disintegrate you and then magically re-integrate the atomic floatsom, would "you" still be you? Come to the reading on December 12th and find out.
