Screenings and Distribution

I'm tickled to see Amazon Video currently has 5 titles streaming in which I appear in. I have no clue what will be the digital longevity of these but it is neat to see, as of right now, I've got a small catalog of works online.

Watch  ―   Bad Blood: The Movie
Watch  ―   Attack of the Morningside Monster
Watch  ―   American Violence
Watch  ―   Blackhats
Watch  ―   Horror Hotel the Movie

Another Actor credit got listed on IMDb this month, for Restricted Diet. Funny that when I started films my goal to get 2 credits (in case the 1st was dumb luck). Now I have over 3 dozen credits for acting plus others.

Restricted Diet - Asia SE Short Film Festival

The festival run for Restricted Diet continued at the South East Asia Short Film Festival in Viet Nam, where we picked up a win for horror short. That's its 2nd international festival; who knew racist vampires could be so popular?

Events

Friends of Drama Tech - Acting Panel

I got a kick out of being on a panel at Drama Tech to talk about the acting profession. The event reminded me of two things: 1) The Q&A brought back memories of juggling my time between grad school classes, DT rehearsals, and my job at The Coca‑Cola Company. Got to share with the students my circuitous path between technology, marketing, and entertainment, and share some perspective on how Drama Tech helped. 2) I am grateful I no longer have to take finals like they do this week. Thanks to Tamil Periasamy and Skyler Westlake for getting in touch with me.

Garage Rebuild

Happy to get my new garage buttoned up for winter so i can work in comfort on the interior over the holidays. This month it was fascia, window caulking, and weather striping; next month it will be wiring, insulation, and cabinetry.

Restricted Diet - Austin Comedy Film Fest

I think this official selection makes for the 8th of the festival run for Restricted Diet. Who knew racist vampires could be so amusing. It screens at Ausin Comedy Short Film Fest, running November 14th and 15th at the Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline.

Bad Blood: The Movie

Sweet! We got a decent review in the LA Times!

Bad Blood gets a week long run starting Friday the 13th in Passadena. It is also streaming on many On Demand platforms including Amazon, Spectrum, Vudu, DirecTV, Google Play, and iTunes. Glad to see this got some decent distribution since its 2016 run of film festivals included wins for Best Feature and for the Score, which can be heard on Spotify.

Grilled Cheese Cat

Leanna Adams plays the funny cat actor in 'Grilled Cheese Cat' screening at the fabulous Y'allywood Film Festival. It's one of the sketches I had the pleasure of doing with Decent Humans back in 2015 and I have one scene it in. The short premiered in June. This month it's showing on the 14th, 7 Stages Theater, during the Comedy Shorts block at 1:30 PM.

Mr. Lockjaw Feature - Dé Ja Vu Table Read

Justin Craig keeps cranking out stories for this sadistic puppet and his psychotic ventrilloquist. His first feature-length story got its table-read 3½ years ago. I'll get to voice his latest one at the end of the month, at the Harp Irish Pub (yay, beer!). In between those, I have really enjoyed playing these two characters in his more "economical" scripts, an hour-long pilot and a half-hour episode. Those garnered several awards at film festivals. Anyway, looking forward to the read and, wistfully, someone to fund more ambitious productions from Justin's sick and tormented soul.

Residential Architecture

Remodeling

Task cascade: the new garage cladding I finished in August looked so good that it made me hate the 16-year-old white vinyl sidding on the back of my house — I had to refinish the house to match. Roof and side walls.

Task cascade: that motivated me to refresh the balcony, removing 200 sq. ft. of worn out decking and a decade+ of leaf litter trapped underneath. New plywood underlayment, water barrier. Top surface is now easy-to-sweep outdoor carpet.

Work in progress. Still need to do the dormer walls and balcony railings but am torn between cladding them in the brown or the tan. Corten might be neat too. TBD.

Loving how this is coming together, skirting between "co-ordinated backyard" and "warehouse compound."

Bad Blood the Movie

New artwork and release date announced for Bad Blood. The movie will be available starting Friday, October 13th, a “Day-and-Date” release in select theatres and all On Demand platforms. I like the new poster design. There've been at least 4 designs since rehearsals back in September 2014, and this will probably perform best in online thumbnail galleries. And, after a year of post-production, a year playing film fests, and 15 months since the distribution rights were sold, it's sweet to finally be looking forward to having my DVD copy of the film.

Restricted Diet - Tampa Film Fest

The festival run for Restricted Diet continues. It screens at The Halloween Horror Picture Show in Tampa, FL which runs the last weekend in September.

Coma Girl - Direct TV

Insomniacs, the Coma Girl short plays on DirectTV, 3:43am Sat Sept 30. Channel 573. You can see me play a mean 3rd wheel to Neil Ramsay and Amber Seidel. It is one of the segements in the Horror Hotel The Movie, free to watch on Amazon Prime
