Post Production

Human Supply Pilot

The Human Supply pilot is now listed on IMDb, bringing me up to 22 Actor credits. Kudos to the production team. Neat color pallet that reminds me of The Matrix; I am also tickled that my mad scientist character figures so prominently.

Production

Simon Maxwell: Interrogator - Feature

This month I wrapped an exhausting 9-page interrogation scene for Simon Maxwell - think Omar Metwally in "Rendition" or Dustin Hoffman in "Marathon Man". It took nine hours in heavy-bruise makeup, strapped to a table, shooting in an abandoned pipe-fitting shed. Unheated. By the end of the shoot I could see my breath. Whew.

Inspiration

Google "Reunion" Marketing Video

Wonderfully compelling ad by Google hits all the right spots for me: a story that people around the world can relate to, a script that is small on dialog, big on visuals, and the product placement is part of the story, not the focus. They just show how Google products help people. Great style and production values for a short video; great style for corporate advertizing. I'm jealous.

Solid acting and sound track reminds me I need to watch "Slumdog Millionaire" again, another wonderful film product of India.

Events

Fearless Experimentation with Cliff Seal

Mail Chimp hosted this speaker for Atlanta Web Design meetup> on the 20th which I got a real kick out of. Why are we so afraid of failure? Have we mistakenly placed UX decisions outside of a normal, human decision-making process? Cliff went to lengths to get people comfortable with the idea that you will fail, but that's good: it gets you closer to Right. Don't let the fear of failure limit your creativity. Reminded me of the old bon mot "If you never fail you're going too slow".

Adobe Create Now Tour with Paul Trani

Really interesting to attend a presentation by Adobe's creative evangelist Paul Trani on all the software Adobe now has on their Creative cloud. The SaaS platform has various monthly subscription plans but also quite a few applications (like the Edge tools) that I learned I can download for free. This and other neet meetups hosted by Atlanta Web Design Group, sponsored by Ogilvy & Mather.
