Screenings and Distribution

Mr. Lockjaw Pilot

Woot! Excited to have the premiere of Mr. Lockjaw on May 7th for cast, crew, friends, and family (event details). Great to have many friends from the indie film community turn out for the photo op, screening, and Q&A with members of the cast and crew. The film sounded great and looked awesome on the big screen. Also glad for the encouraging feedback, often in the form of folks wanting to see more of what happens to the characters introduced in this dark, funny, and psychotic series. Hoping to be on the hook for many more episodes.

Production

White Lightning - Short

I've got a part in Nick DeMao's latest project, a satire about a ragtag team of freedom fighters called White Lightning. I play something a cliché Russian bad guy and right-hand man to Valdimir Putin (played by Barry Piacente), supported by a team of ammo fodder.

Willard - Short

After almost a year of very infrequent filming, I wrapped my titular role in Willard. My fifth and final day was a reshoot of something originally shot seven months ago. Now re-written, re-located, and re-cast, the scene grew from 3 pages to 7 pages and 5 of 7 character substitutions. Only a blu-screen SFX and VO left now. Whew!

Decent Humans - Shorts

More villany: I got to play "Doctor Telepathy" in Lady Justice, an Avengers-inspired comedy sketch this month. It will be another spot for the Decent Humans YouTube channel by Kenny MacLaughlin and Leanna Adams, and hopefully another of their's that will get some air time on College Humor or Funny or Die. My last project with Kenny was The Bachelorette Project back in 2013 and since then he has been trying to get me in another short but the Gods of Schedules kept getting in the way. Until now.

Hope - Sci Fi Short

On May 2nd the trailer for Hope screened at The Plaza as part of the premiere of Stop Date. Happy too to see the FX quality hold up on a big screen for my first time as a space man. Some post-production (green-screen editing) remains but director Frank Anderson is trying to have the film completed by month-end.

Pre production

The Interns Part 1

If Facebook likes were worth $5 each, the first part of The Interns film project would already be fully funded. Alas they’re not, so a Kickstarter campaign went live on the 4th. Last I looked it was was $3000 shy of the funding goal. $25 bucks will get you the DVD.

Update: On June 1st the Kickstarter campaign successfully reached the funding goal!

Steal My Love - Feature

On the 28th had the pleasure of voicing several characters in a recorded table-read of John Schmedes script of "Steal My Love." John and I worked on Mr Lockjaw last November and, years ago, on Oversight . Fun to meet "Q" McCauley and Sharon Tomlinson of Studio 11 Films where we recorded.

Around the table: Alana Cheshire (back to camera), John Schmedes, Tashia Grant, Susan?, "Tree", Avery Williams (reading action), me, and Brian Troxell.

Stop Date - Premiere

Brian Teague is a smart promoter. For his premiere at The Plaza of his web series Stop Date, he reached out to local film makers to include a mess of shorts and trailers on the program, as well as a Q&A after the screenings. That made for a full evening of entertainment and a full house. Of the shorts, shout outs for Level Up and Lonesome Launderer. And, selfishly, I loved seeing the trailers for Hope and Mr. Lockjaw on a big screen for the first time; they were gorgeous.
