48-Hour Film Project - A Matter of Time
June 27-29 the tour is in Atlanta and I'll be teaming up with Jayson Palmer, Mike Stanley, and the rest of the folks on team Lobster Boy Productions to crank out an award-winning short film in 48 hours. At least that's the plan. Over 90 teams registered this year so there will be film screenings on multiple evenings -- we're in the "D" group screening Tues 8 July at 9:45 at Landmark Cinema.
Matter Of Time contains the required elements of a Dr. Oliver Sandman, a peach, and the line "I have a secret to tell you". Alas, I am typecast: this is the third time I've been cast in a movie as an evil doctor in a lab coat -- and the second time in a year where my character climbs into a bed to drug a teenager. Jees!
Horror Hotel Season 2 - Coma Girl
I have a four-day shoot this month on the set of Horror Hotel. I've been cast in a Season Two episode, Coma Girl, which is a creepy love story: a nursing home night watchman (played by yours truly) falls in love with a comatose woman (Amanda Seidel). The short film ends badly with some fight choreography between him and her husband (Neil Ramsay).
Fun working with Neil for the first time. He appeared in two episodes of the first season of Horror Hotel, but not
the Invader episode I was in. Amanda and I played together before on Code Name: Widow there's a clip from it in my demo reel.
We also did an interview for the The Horror Hotel Blog. Good questions about doing film and entertainment in Atlanta.
Season One of Horror Hotel is now streaming online at Hulu and AT&T U-verse. Season Two will wrap later this year.
American Hell - horror short
A little gore in store for a SAG short by Robert Bryce Milburn shot on Super 16mm film. Yes, actual film! The only other time I was in a literal film project was for a surreal short call Modern Appetite. I got a brief scene of pre-homicial desperation with a killer played by (Josh Mikel) and bloody make up by Renonda Anderson. A strong turnout of J Pervis Talent on this shoot:

Atlanta Screenwriters Group
I got out to the Atlanta Screeenwriters Group on the 5th this month to read Byron Erwin's "Obfuscation" feature, a story about three guys all lying to each other, until gunshots end the betrayals. I got to read one of the three unlikeable leads, who reminded me of the leads in Closer or in Death Trap. Rich Langford was marvelous reading for a smarmy private eye. Fun to see Devin Miller; I hadn't seen him since we did Atheist Dinner Party earlier this year (and screening at the Gwinnette Film Fest in August).
On the 19th we read Cory Dious' "Insane Assassins" and I got to read for the lead character "Abel" with Andrew Belamy (who also was in Atheist Diner Party ) reading for his cop partner "James." Lots of over-top gun violence and a table-read is the only way I every get to play a tall, dark, and handsome playboy!
