The Interns - Part 1

Wrapped part one of The Interns crime drama this month, with Sunny Lee and company catching the action on a RED camera. A 6-day shoot total but only 4 days for my character. I got a kick out of doing my first "bad cop" interrogation, badgering a sweet suspect (Sarah Taylor-Tores) to tears, and getting into a bloody mess of a buddy-cop murder scene (with Ashley Renfroe). It sure was nice to play a character who isn't the killer or getting killed.

Screenings and Distribution

Mr. Lockjaw Pilot

Encore screening of Mr. Lockjaw Sunday, August 2nd, at 6 PM at the Gwinnett Center International Film Festival (our show also opened the fest on Friday July 31st). Check out the full schedule and get tickets. Over 120 films, several world premieres, and I got to speak on a couple of the discussion panels. Met a lot of film makers and actors.

We started some limited TV advertising with a 30sec spot airing late night, making fun of the types of commercials that often show up in that slot.

“blackhats” - feature

The crime drama “blackhats” begins its festival run, premiering Friday August 14th at 8pm in Austin, TX as part of the Capital City Black Film Festival. Of all my film projects this one was in post the longest: my one day on set, in a scene opposite lead Errol Sadler, was filmed 3½ years ago! At this month's screening there will be Errol and 4 other leads (Doris Morgado, Ted Huckabee, Cheri Christian and Neko Parham), director LaRon Austin, and co-writers Martin Kelly and Eddie Singleton. Georgia screening next month at the Peachtree Village International Film Fest.

Lady Justice - short

Released by Decent Humans this month, a day in the life of a female super hero struggling against a glass ceiling. Lady Justice is an Avengers-inspired comedy sketch short with an appearance of yours truly as Doctor Telepathy.

Public Enemy #1

The 2015 season of ABFF Independent will open with our film Public Enemy #1. The program showcases some of the best independent shorts and documentaries from emerging African-American artists. Monday, Aug 3rd, at 9pm on Aspire TV (channel 188 on xfinity /comcast). ABFF Promo video

Bad Blood The Movie

Sound is getting close to done for Bad Blood. This month I was in for an recording session for foley fill for some missed production elements and a couple bits of ADR. Lots of breathing, gasping, and gurgling. Best part was getting to see long chunks of edited scenes with FX and sound design; the effects look great and I loved seeing how the drama is punctuated with comic bits, like in American Werewolf in London. This one will be very entertaining.
