Screenings and Distribution

Horror Hotel - Invader

More international exposure for the Horror Hotel web series: our Invader episode is an official selection of the prestigous and highly competitive Raindance Web Fest. The virtual U.K. invasion is September 28th.

American Hell - Horror Short

Already a winner in the Accolade Competition, American Hell will next be screening In California City, CA, at the end of this month at the Wasteland Film Fest.

Atheist Dinner Party - Short

There will be screening of Atheist Dinner Party at Get Connected on the 25th. Irrevereent dinner conversation on politics, religion, and sex by Justin Craig, produced by Kevin L. Powers, and directed by Byron Conrad Erwin. The colorful cast of Georgia actors includes me as the man in black.

Morningside Monster

And it's another banner month for Morningside Monster with 3 festival screenings:

The Knoxville Film Fest screening is at 8:30 Friday September 12th. Several cast and crew members will be in attendance to answer your questions at the Q&A following the screening. Many thanks to the KFF programmers for including us in the lineup this year.

The The Scareacon Film Festival, a part of the Scare-a-con convention, is September 12-14, where it has been nominated for Best Feature, Director Chris Ethridge, Actor Nicholas Brendon, Actress Tiffany Shepis, Music Jeremy Frank and FX Tracie Dailey & Cynthia Michel.

Finally, on the 26th, it will be in L.A. again, at the Days of the Dead L.A. film fest. Tiffany Shepis will be on hand to talk about the film.

Mr. Snuggles - Short

Our 2012 short film, Mr Snuggles is now available VOD on Amazon Instant Video. The short was the inspiration for the series pilot Mr Lockjaw, currently in production.

Production

Mr. Lockjaw - Short

As of Sept 1st coverage, I only have 7 pages left for my character(s) in Mr Lockjaw. More weekend shoots this month, some staged photography for a poster design, and the first teaser was posted.

Willard - Short

Down to the last two days of filming to wrap up Dylan Chandler's satire, featuring yours truly as the homeless hunter Willard. Ghillie suit in tow, I play a duplicitous militant camping in a guy's suburban backyard for an odd game of cat-and-mouse. It's basically a two-person story but my taciturn character only has ~40 lines of dialog. But, oh, there are fireworks.

Pre Production

Bad Blood The Movie

A couple table reads and a rehearsal this month for Bad Blood. Great roller-coaster-ride of a script from Timothy Reis makes excelent use of a small cast of characters to tell a chilling tale. I love the rhythm of the script as it builds and re-builds after a couple of false endings. Unlike many of my recent roles, this character is a chatterbox, delivering much of the crime-sleuthing exposition.

Restricted Diet - Comedy Short

Learning an 8-page script for Restricted Diet playing a "possibly racist" vampire who gets called out for his choice of victims. Script by Mitchell McLean, directed by Candace Mabry (who was with me in No Experience Necessary), and produced by Kevin Powers (who also produced Atheist Dinner Party. One-day shoot scheduled for October.

Events

Atlanta Screenwriters Group

Every 1st and 3rd Thursday night ASG meets at Georgia State University. On the 4th they hosted a table Read of Tami Latela's draft "Push" crime-drama feature (I got to read a detective character who drives the story-telling rather like LA Confidential). These meetings are set up to help screenwriters develop their ideas by giving constructive feedback on their work (and give actors experience with cold reads).

Blank Page Screenwriters Group

Table read of Stephen Sherwood's 7-part sci-fi story, Human Coda, at the Blank Page Screenwriters Group Event on Sept 3rd. I got to read for a CDC scientist; I wish I had brought my Human Supply lab coat to the reading. He's trying to get more input for re-writes from his Alien Crisis Survey.

J Pervis Talent

Fun end-of-summer mixer hosted by J Pervis Talent on the 10th. I ran into a lot of folks with whom I've worked with before, but I didn't know they shared my agency. Love hanging out with Alpha Trivette (Mr Lockjaw), Josh Mikel (American Hell), Stephanie Stevens (Horror Hotel), Amor Owens (Hope), Niki Davis (Mr Lockjaw), Sacha Dzuba (Relapse), Cory Chapman (Ben Taylor Workshop), Maurice Chevalier (Three Sisters), and so many other talented people

The Buckhead location was ironic for me: The Establishment was, until a few months ago, "Locos" and one of my regular lunchtime restaurants when I was working around the corner at Brown Bag. Strange to see my old hangout transformed so completely, and so recently, and now packed to the walls with actors and models; Same location, but now an entirely different "place" for different work and different colleagues.
