Post Production

Mr. Lockjaw - Pilot

Wrapped the pickup shots on Mr Lockjaw this month, including reshoots of the bank vault (insert below) and a creepy puppet bath at a sweet antebellum mansion.

Also shot new material for the title sequence and for a 2nd teaser, featuring a classic T-top Stingray. And, unlike the 1st teaser, in this one I got to say two whole words!

Waiting Summary

I am eternally grateful for the editors who turn raw footage into a final composed film (I think acting is, by comparison, so much easier!) but I still hate waiting. I typically don't get any updates on progress, rough-cuts, or distribution ETA while they toil away. I keep telling myself its good enough to have so much work in the pipeline, and half are already listed on IMDb, but I wish some of these older projects would emerge from the shadowy mist of post-production or distribution dealings. Old features might premiere any day while old shorts might never.

[Aug 2016 Update: GED, Upyri Ep 4, and Preserving Christmas died in post; the others are released]

Screenings and Distribution

American Hell - Horror Short

The last festival of the year for American Hell is down under at the Trasharama a-go-go, self-styled as "Australia's nastiest short film festerval competition." Starring the talented Mark Ashworth, who plays also in Mr Lockjaw, it hopefully will get more awards next year and the support to produce the feature-length treatment of the story.

Exit Log - Sci Fi Short

Found another neat sci-fi bottle story that was released earlier this year. I love how efficiently it is told with only 2 actors, a tiny set, and under 5 minutes. There's about a minute of blue screen and CG but otherwise entirely done inside a cramped spaceship capsule. It's added to my list of short Science Fiction films I wish I had made.
